Marqués de Riscal Hotel

The Marques de Riscal Hotel – The Luxury Edition in La Rioja, Spain, is part of the Marriott International group and stands out for different aspects. Inaugurated in 2006, the hotel is a forerunner in its concept of offering an enotourism experience to its visitors. During the renovation in 2020, several sustainable bamboo products were selected to bring a comfortable warmth into the interior and exterior design.

Recognised worldwide

Designed by the renowned architect Frank O. Gehry, the hotel’s titanium-faced façade is recognised worldwide, with colours honouring the wine owners. Architect César Caicoya, who participated in the project alongside Frank O. Gehry, was in charge of taking on the ambitious challenge of extending the hotel by , adding 18 rooms to the existing 43.

Highest environmental requirements

During this renovation, it was imperative to meet the highest environmental requirements. To this end, materials were carefully selected to meet these requirements in terms of sustainable development. Among other sustainable choices, 961 photovoltaic solar panels were installed on the hotel roof. MOSO® Bamboo Supreme was selected as flooring for the hotel’s new rooms, bringing a warm touch to the spaces and the outdoor terrace areas were created with MOSO® Bamboo X-treme®.
