The Red Sea – The St. Regis Red Sea Resort

Extreme luxury coincides with a sustainable resort in which restoration and preservation is dominant

With the first guests arriving in October of 2023, the official opening of a revolutionary approach to luxury tourism began. The Red Sea unfolds as a regenerative destination along Saudi Arabia’s west coast. Encompassing over 28,000 km², it hosts an archipelago of more than 90 pristine islands, untouched beaches, dormant volcanoes, expansive desert dunes, majestic mountain canyons, and culturally significant historical sites. The Red Sea envisions a range of luxury accommodations, hotels, and residential properties to cater to upscale travellers seeking unique and immersive experiences, though the arrival of the first guests only marked the beginning of this milestone project, as The Red Sea has ambitious expansion plans. By 2030, it will be adorned with 50 hotels, offering 8,000 rooms, up to 1,000 residential properties, and even its own international airport.

Exquisite design for an exquisite experience

Red Sea Global (RSG) appointed leading Swiss timber construction company Blumer Lehmann for the timber construction planning and fabrication as well as supply works for a resort designed by Kengo Kuma and located on Ummahat Island. MOSO® is more than proud to have been able to contribute this luxury resort with MOSO® Bamboo X-treme®, a material that coincides with the sustainability goals of the project as well as the need for an extremely durable material without cutting corners when it comes to looks. MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® adds to this elegant and pristine resort and has been used on the walkways as well as the villas themselves. The heavy-duty Bamboo X-treme® Decking ensures resilience against the elements, making it an ideal choice for this unique environment.

St Regis Red Sea Resort - Ummahat Islands

Ummahat Island is home to two of the most exclusive resorts, The St. Regis Red Sea Resort and Nujuma, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve. Nestled on a pristine private island within the Ummahat archipelago, The St. Regis Red Sea Resort stands as a testament to exquisite living. The island, accessible from the coast of Saudi Arabia via chartered boat or seaplane, occupies a secluded position in The Red Sea destination, embodying a progressive new benchmark for sustainable luxury. Surrounded by crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches and an abundance of thriving coral reefs, guests of the island will experience new levels of luxury, merging the very best of The Red Sea with the incredible natural beauty of the Red Sea coast.

"From the very beginning, we promised to do things differently, and building the largest destination in the world powered solely by renewables was a key part of that"
