In collaboration with Dutch façade specialist Awood, an elegant product range to enhance any façade has been developed. For projects in which a more luxurious and natural look is desired, these products can be extremely interesting.
MOSO® developed a very complete range of Bamboo X-treme® cladding profiles to offer freedom in design for architects and project developers. It was clear that architects were looking for a product that stood out, something unique without jeopardizing the high quality. With this aim in mind, Bamboo X-treme® Varibo was created and has since been further developed based on the market demand.
Bamboo X-treme® Varibo Cladding can be installed with MOSO® Fasteners or in a screwed down installation. Additionally, various Cladding profiles are available that fit the Grad installation system. The Grad installation system is a patented and unique solution to install Bamboo X-treme® Cladding fast and easy on aluminium rails with hidden and demountable clips. The system allows for very detailed lines in the design. Installation on the Grad system makes the facade cladding circular and future-proof, since the cladding boards and installation system can be easily separated and recycled.
Variable widths to create a unique and eye-catching look. A trend in cladding is the use of boards or slats in different widths that create a stunning look over the full façade. To fulfill the demand of variable widths, MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Varibo is available in widths of 65, 100, 137 or 178 mm. Each board is 1850 mm long and 18 mm thick. Additionally, the 65 and 100 mm wide boards are also available in a 3D version with a thickness of 30 mm. Thanks to an end-match system, optically endless lengths can be created. With the installation of a 18 mm MOSO® Fastener in the edge grooves, ensuring a 5 mm gap, this look can be defined in many ways making every installation unique. Vertical installation is recommended for these cladding boards, while in horizontal installations water can stay in the groove.
For horizontal cladding installations the Rhombus bamboo cladding board is the preferred choice. Besides the Rebated and Trapezium cladding profiles, MOSO® also offers various Rhombus profiles. Depending on the preferred visual result the Single, Double or Triple Rhombus can be selected or combined. With the hidden installation with Fasteners and the stability of MOSO® Bamboo X-treme®, it is a durable, elegant and a long-lasting enrichment to any façade.
The Closed profile cladding offers a great advantage with the fire protection class B-s1-d0 (EN 13501-1) for the complete system, without the need for impregnation with expensive and environmentally harmful fire retardants. The cladding board is screwed to the substructure and the next board covers the screw, resulting in a beautiful bamboo façade. The Closed profile is available in 65, 100 and 155 mm width, allowing unique facades to be created with this profile as well.
As we see more and more building façades being created with non-renewable materials, our belief in bamboo as the construction material of the future grows. Moso bamboo stems, which are used for MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Varibo Cladding, are mature after just 4-5 years. After harvesting, the bamboo plant does not die and no deforestation takes place. On the contrary, the rhizome sprouts new stems even faster. Due to this, bamboo can be harvested annually and bamboo forestry is sustainable and fair trade for the farmers by default. MOSO® Bamboo Products are the sustainable alternative to tropical hardwood and non-renewable materials.
