The Statue Garden – Assaf Harofeh Medical Center

In between the buildings of Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, several statues were scattered on old flooring without any plan, in an internal patio. Following a new donation received, it was decided to renew the neglected disorganized garden, in order to create an accommodating and respected stage to the statues and a pleasant restful environment for patients and visitors. The renewal of the garden was trusted with landscape architect Udi Binyamini, who chose two leading materials: granite porcelain stone for flooring the peripherals of the patio and MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® for decking and cladding, intended to conceal the old existing elements. A central big ramp was built to enable accessibility and mobility around the garden. Raised platforms were built to situate the statues, which were re-organized in the patio. MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® decking was chosen for this project because of its beautiful deep shade appearance, providing a good contrast to the statues and stone, but mostly due to its outstanding characteristics – durability and stability, also delivering a clear message of innovation.
